Mayor Nixon Fulfils First Election Promise: Firearms Licensing Fees Lowered by 30%

Mayor Allegra Nixon has signed City Order 2507-01, reducing all City firearms-licensing fees by thirty percent. The LSPD has confirmed that its systems have been updated and the rate change is now in effect.

“Lowering these fees was a clear promise in my campaign and I am proud to deliver it within my first week,” Mayor Nixon said. “Responsible residents should not be priced out of compliance. By lowering costs, we strengthen public safety because more owners will license their weapons properly.”
